The Galaxy S4 i9506 the LTE-A variant has officially got the Android 5.0.1 lollipop update and you can now easily upgrade to the latest Android OS.

In this step-by-step update guide for the Galaxy S4, I will show you the exact method how you can manually update your phone using the Samsung firmware flash tool Odin3.

Odin3 is the tool used to flash stock firmware on the Galaxy devices and is mostly used to for the recovery of bricked devices. Let’s move on and learn how you can update your S4 using Odin and get the Android 5.0.1 lollipop update.

Requirements and Guidelines:

  • This update is only compatible with the Galaxy S4 model number GT-i9506.
  • Backup all your important data stored on your device. You may use one of these Android backup apps.
  • Download Stock Firmware update for Galaxy S4 from Sammobile.
  • Download Odin3 v3.10
  • Go to Settings > Developers Options and enable USB debugging.
  • Download and install USB drivers for Galaxy S4 drivers.
  • Last but not the least, carefully read and follow the instructions to safely done with the update process.

Update Galaxy S4 GT-9506 to Stock Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

Step 1: Download the required update files and unzip on your desktop.
