Have you Unlocked Bootloader?
i am in twrp recovery, and i cant find the superSU.zip, now my phone will only boot twrp, what do i do?
You’ve to download the SuperSU update zip package from the above link and copy it to your device. Then boot your phone into TWRP Recovery Mode and Flash the zip..
He’s actually stuck in twrp recovery because he followed the instructions to flash the recovery image to the boot partition which is what happened to me. I was able to find a boot.img and flashed it to the boot partition and my phone starts to boot up but never completes
Hold down the power button and the volume up buttons until you are out of the recovery
Why do you have “fastboot flash boot recovery.img”? It should be “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”
Extremely sorry for the error, Actually the file name recovery.img made me confused. The tutorial is now updated and thanks for pointing out.. 🙂 I am really sorry guyzz… and Disappointed..
this guide probably soft bricked a ton of phones. its ‘fastboot flash recovery recovery.img’ now i have to try and find a stock boot.img
Any luck finding a stock boot.img – I need one for an AT&T HTC One M8
Any rom’s boot.img will do. Just go to XDA.
The tutorial has been updated!!!
If anyone needs to fix their issue: Download any M8 Sense rom, extract the boot.img and use the following commands in fastboot “fastboot flash boot boot.img”
Could you point me to one? Do I need to have S-OFF for it to work? I’m thinking not since I was able to destroy it just fine…
Does it matter if it was from a different provider’s phone? Mine is an AT&T
Has anyone been able to recovery their phone after following this tutorial and writing the recovery image over the boot partition?
Please, for the sake of everyone who reads this, change your instructions for flashing the recovery from “fastboot flash boot recovery recovery.img” to “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”.
