How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900W8

Today in Android Tutorial Series, we are going to root another variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is the Canadian variant with the model number SM-N900W8. As always we’ll be using the CF-Root procedure to gain root access as this is the safe and quick way to get rooted. Without wasting any further time, let’s move on and get started to root galaxy note 3 sm-n900w8.

Rooting your android device voids warranty, We and the developer shall not be responsible!! This method will trip Samsung Knox, but there is nothing to be worried about it as this issue can be resolved.

Requirements and Guidelines:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900W8 with USB cable
  • CF-Root Package – CF-Auto-Root-hltecan-hlteub-smn900w8.zip
  • Odin3 would be required to flash the kernel (It is already included in the CF-Root package)
  • Go to Settings> Developers Options and Enable USB debugging.
  • Make sure that you’ve installed USB drivers on your PC. Download Samsung USB drivers.
  • Before start the rooting procedure make sure that you’ve got good enough battery charge.
  • Last but not the least, Read and follow the instructions carefully.

How to Root Canada Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900W8 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Step 1: First of all download the packages required to root Galaxy Note 3 Canadian model. (Links are given in the above section).

Step 2: Extract/Unzip the CF-Root package. You’ll find the rooted kernel and Odin3 flashing tool.

Step 3: Run Odin v3.07 application on your PC.

Step 4: Reboot your Note 3 into Download Mode, Hold down the Volume Down+Home and Power buttons simultaneously and release it when you see a warning message on your screen. Hit the Volume Up button to continue.

Step 5:  While in download mode, connect your Galaxy Note 3 to PC via the USB cable and make sure that Odin3 detects your device.

Step 6: Once your device makes connection your device, you’ll see the Added!! in the message section of Odin.

Step 7: Finally hit the PDA button and select the rooted kernel tar.md5 file from the folder you’ve unzipped earlier. Wait for Odin to initialize the package and then Click on the START button to flash the kernel which will install SuperSU and stock recovery.

Step 8: In a while Odin will root your galaxy note 3, once completed, Odin3 will notify you via the PASS!! green signal and your device will automatically reboots.

When your Note 3 reboots normally, check that SuperSU has been installed, which confirms that your device has successfully been rooted and you’ve now full root access to your device. You can now install apps from Google Play Store which requires root access like Titanium Backup etc, you can also flash TWRP/CWM recovery in order to flash custom rom and further make tweaks to your device in order to customize and improve its overall performance.

How to fix Unfortunately SuperSU has stopped?

  • Download and install the latest APK of SuperSU on your Galaxy tablet
  • Open SuperSU app (Update the binary if prompted) and allow it to disable Knox
  • Reboot the device.
